Hi lovelies,
How are you doing today? I have been visiting my parents this weekend and have decided to share with you what makeup I usually take with me when a travel for a couple of day only. Most of the time it is bare minimum. There is no reason to overdo with makeup if I am just being with my family. But I am always curious when it comes to what other people find best items for them. So I thought you might like to get a peak inside my makeup bag as well 🙂
1. Gillian Jones Makeup Bag
I would like to start with the makeup bad itself. It is by Gillian Jones. I have had it for around two years now, I think, and I love it. It has a nice rich red color. Not dark, but like a perfectly red lipstick. It looks very feminine and I find its size perfect. I used to have a much smaller one before and could not put my makeup brushes in. I am very glad that stumbled upon this one as a replacement.
2. Better Than Sex Mascara by TooFaced
My first makeup essential is mascara “Better Than Sex” from TooFaced. I have used “Miss Manga” from Maybelline before and it was great too but “Better Than Sex” is my favourite. I do not even feel like trying something new which is not like me at all 😀
3. Pencil Eyeshadow by Gosh
The next item in my makeup bag for a weekend getaway is this pencil eyeshadow from Gosh. It has a very nice pinky color. It is so easy to use. When I do not feel like doing anything too complicated but want to look a bit more put together, I reach out for this one.
4. Black Matte Eyeliner by NYX
However, if we go out in the evening, then I put out my “heavy artillery” which is my eyeliner from NYX. It lasts all day and does not smudge at all. With this one I always feel “equipped” well enough for a dinner out 🙂
5. Sheertone Blush by MAC
My other makeup essential for a weekend getaway is blush which is also from MAC in color “sincere”. I have quite a fair skin with red undertone and this blush fits me perfectly. It is easy to apply and looks very natural. I apply it with a big brush from E.L.F. I think it is meant to be a foundation brush but it works perfectly fine for blush too 😀
6. Mineralize Skinfinish by MAC
To add some glow I use this hyped skinfinish which is basically a highlighter from MAC. It is not particularly bright but looks amazing in the daylight and adds this nice healthy glow which is subtle and natural but makes a great difference. I really like applying it with a fan brush.
And what do you take with you when you travel only for a weekend? One of the days I did not wear ANY makeup at all, because why not. And what about you? Makeup or no makeup? Share your thoughts, I am very curious 🙂
Cheers,
T
